As part of Weaviate 1.28, we've got exciting new updates, from Role-based access control (RBAC)️ to Async indexing improvements. Weaviate 1.28 Release
Weaviate 1.28 brings enterprise-grade security, faster indexing, and improved multilingual support to your vector database. This release introduces role-based access control (RBAC), enhanced async indexing improvements, and native Japanese language support - making Weaviate more secure, faster, and globally accessible than ever.
⚙️ Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): In technical preview, role-based access control allows organizations to set granular permissions for users accessing their vector database.
📁 Async Indexing Improvements: An enhanced experimental async indexing system handles all vector operations in the background, improving performance and reducing memory usage through a new on-disk queue architecture.
🔄 Conflict Resolution Improvements: New configurable strategies help handle object deletion conflicts in distributed environments, offering time-based, strict deletion, or manual resolution options.

We’re excited to share that Weaviate ranked in the Leader Circle in the latest GigaOm Sonar Report for Vector Databases. In particular, they highlighted our multiple cost-saving techniques, which help teams build and scale AI applications while staying within their allocated budgets.
